Netherbrook Primary School

Key Stage 2

Years 4, 5 and 6 make up Key Stage 2 at our school.

In Key Stage 2 we study Numeracy; Literacy which includes writing, reading, grammar, spelling and handwriting.

Science, History, Geography, Music, Art and DT are taught through topics enabling children to make links between subjects and teachers always ensure these lessons are creative and hands on. The children are also encouraged to work independently. Religious education is taught as a separate subject.

The staff are excited about the new opportunities that this will bring to teaching and learning and are currently planning new topics for every year group.

We have the opportunity to learn French at Key Stage 2 using an ICT program and resources.

Year 5 go swimming every week during the Autumn term and most reach the expected level of being able to swim 25m unaided by the end of the session.

We have further enrichment activities through themed weeks and after school clubs.
