Leading Parent Partnership Award (LPPA)

LPPA Award

We were very proud to be awarded with our original Leading Parent Partnership Award (LPPA) in February 2011 and we are very happy that our good work has been recognised and our award was renewed for a further three years in May 2015.

While working to obtain the award Netherbrook Parent Group worked as the working party with their views and opinions being highly valued. Since then, we have continued to follow the guidelines and this as enabled us to strengthen our partnership with parents and enhance children’s life chances at all stages.

We invite parents into school at every opportunity. Throughout the week we run Family Learning sessions, Stay and Play, Family/Team Reading sessions from Foundation Stage to Year 2, Praise Assemblies, Parent Group as well as Friends of Netherbrook (FONS) on a monthly basis. In addition, we offer parent workshops, Inspire sessions, coffee mornings and Parents Evenings.

Family Learning

At Netherbrook we fully support Family Learning which offers parents the opportunity to work alongside their child.

We have run a range of courses including:

  • Got Kids? Get Reading!
  • Story Sacks
  • Get Cooking
  • Titanic Art Project
  • Family Maths

Family Learning can also help parents extend their own skills. Look out for letters sent to year groups. You are welcome to join us!

Parent Group

Meets in the Community Room every Friday (first Friday of the month is FONS) from 1.30 until 3.00pm. Please feel free to come along for a coffee and chat! The afternoon is very informal and relaxed with no pressure to contribute, a time to get together with other parents/grandparents/carers for support. We regularly have visitors to join us for some of the sessions.

Drop in Sessions

Mrs Bowen currently offers drop in sessions for parents from 8.30 to 9.30am on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays and every day after school. No need to make an appointment just sign in at the main reception and then call into the Community Room.

Find out about general year group/school information; child/family support; adult training opportunities and entitlements. Mrs Bowen can also be contacted directly on 01384 814377.
